But My Dog Was Driving, Officer

Those accused of traffic violations can come up with many alternative theories of reality which support their innocence. Recently, a driver in Port St. Lucie, Florida came up with one of the best excuses of all time: while he may have been drunk, he was not driving.  His dog was.  It just may have worked.   Problem was the dog was not in the car at the time and therefore not able to corroborate his story.

Perhaps if the dog was in the vehicle, or at least on site to be interviewed the defense may have gotten more traction.
